A tenant fatally assaulted a Wariyapola landlord.

An argument that broke out early this morning (7th) in a house in the Wariyapola, Halmillewa area has ended in a tragic murder. This occurred when a 56-year-old homeowner was fatally attacked with a brutal sharp weapon by a person who was renting a room in that house.

Police state that in addition to the homeowner, his wife and daughter have also been severely injured in this horrific attack. The two of them, who sustained serious injuries due to the sharp weapon attacks, have currently been admitted to Nikaweratiya Base Hospital. However, the head of the household who was attacked did not get an opportunity to be hospitalized for treatment and died at the scene of the incident.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed facts regarding why the dispute between the residents and the tenant escalated to such an extent. Police state that an argument between the individuals involved getting out of control directly led to this tragedy.

After committing this crime, the suspect tenant has fled the area. Wariyapola Police are currently conducting further investigations to apprehend the suspect, who is in hiding after taking one human life and seriously injuring two others.
