The owner of Kirindiwela CK Cinema, who was caught with weapons, is not my brother - Harshana

The MP emphasizes that strong legal action will be taken against media reports that linked Samagi Jana Balawegaya Gampaha District Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna with the owner of Kirindiwela CK Cinema, who was arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division with firearms.

Issuing a statement, he points out that several media outlets, including a social media account of a government-affiliated newspaper institution, have created completely false news in this manner. The MP states that these false reports have been published with the aim of politically assassinating his character and tarnishing his name.

Mr. Rajakaruna states that merely because the surname is similar, the wrongs committed by other individuals cannot be attributed to him, and he has also clarified that he has no brothers. He points out through the statement that he is the only male child in a family of three sisters.

Mr. Rajakaruna emphasized that in his 11-year parliamentary political history, he has never even obtained the official firearm allocated to MPs. Furthermore, the statement adds that his late father, Sarath Chandra Rajakaruna, also never possessed a firearm.

MP Harshana Rajakaruna has further confirmed that he has already given the necessary instructions to enforce the law against these baseless and false propagandas.
