Namal - Janaki back in - Tissakutti questioned

The bail application filed on behalf of Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody in connection with the Krish deal, was rejected by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today (23). Accordingly, the court ordered that the MP and Janaki Siriwardhana, a former director of the relevant company, be further remanded until the 6th of next month.

Previously, his lawyers had presented facts before the court requesting that bail be granted to the suspect MP. After considering the facts presented, Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama announced the order rejecting the relevant bail application today. Submissions of facts regarding this case have also commenced before the court.

Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament Tissakuttiarachchi also appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department today (23). According to reports, he appeared in response to a summons issued to obtain a statement.
