Two children died after a house in Dehiwala was bombed.

Two boys have died and their father has been seriously injured in a hand grenade attack on a house located on Sirisangabo Mawatha in Dehiwala, Kawdana area, early this morning.

The two children, who were severely injured in the attack, died after being admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, and their bodies are currently kept in the hospital's mortuary. The father, who was also seriously injured in the incident, has been admitted to the same hospital for further treatment.

Police suspect, based on initial investigations, that this attack is a result of an ongoing conflict between organized crime gangs. Specifically, it is believed that this hand grenade attack may have been carried out by the faction of the organized criminal known as 'Koodu Anju'. Previously, a hand grenade attack also occurred on a house on Wimalasiri Mawatha, Kalubowila, Dehiwala, and this attack took place less than 24 hours after that incident.

Suspects related to the incident or the specific reasons for the attack have not yet been revealed, and in addition to the Dehiwala Police, three special police teams have been deployed to expand investigations to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
