Sri Lanka team defeated by England by a massive margin of 223 runs

The host England team managed to defeat the Sri Lankan team by a massive margin of 223 runs in the third and final One Day International (ODI) cricket match held at The Oval. With this victory, England was able to win the three-match ODI series 2-1, and it is noteworthy that this is their fifth consecutive bilateral ODI series win against Sri Lanka.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, the England team posted a massive total of 355 runs for 7 wickets at the end of their allotted 50 overs. In reply, the Sri Lankan team was bowled out for just 134 runs in 29.1 overs.

At the start of England's innings, Ben Duckett was dismissed for a duck by Dilshan Madushanka, but Tom Banton and Joe Root managed to build the innings together. Although Root was dismissed for 18 runs, Banton, who was engaged in a rapid batting display from the other end, added significant momentum to England's innings.

Harry Brook, who provided excellent support, accelerated the scoreboard by scoring a half-century off 49 balls.
