Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa, mother of Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, National Organizer of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and Member of Parliament, who has been arrested and remanded in connection with the alleged incident of obtaining a bribe of Rs. 100 million during the purchase of aircraft for SriLankan Airlines, has visited Welikada Prison to inquire about his well-being. Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court on the 4th and subsequently ordered to be remanded until the 18th. He is currently being held at the Colombo Remand Prison.
