Former Member of Parliament Vasudeva Nanayakkara states that the opposition is waiting for public discontent against the current government to build up, intending to make it their main strategy for consolidating political power. He points out that the opposition is prepared to exploit the economic and social difficulties faced by the people and to incite the public against the government.
Speaking at a press conference held today (07), the former MP emphasized that it is essential for the ruling party to act very wisely and cautiously in the face of this situation. He also accused the right-wing united opposition of colluding with reactionary forces and preparing a new program with the aim of regaining power once again.
Furthermore, Vasudeva Nanayakkara stated that looking at the statements made by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, it appears he is very pleased with the mistakes made by the government and the growing public unrest regarding the government.
The former MP, stating that the Gen Z generation in the country was not agitated by the arrest of Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, further stated that their real agitation has arisen concerning the attempt to reverse the country's progress through the conspiratorial unity of the opposition against the current administration.
