MiG aircraft deal - Donald to FCID today after Gota

Former Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal Donald Perera appeared before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) today to give a statement for the ongoing investigations regarding the controversial MiG aircraft deal. This summons was made in accordance with the extensive investigations currently underway regarding the aircraft procurement process.

The manner in which this deal, which was heavily discussed and controversial in the past, occurred, the various parties involved, and its financial aspects had drawn the attention of many parties for a long time, and various questionable situations had also arisen in connection with it.

In connection with this MiG aircraft investigation, authorities had previously recorded statements from several other senior officials. Accordingly, former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Air Force Commander Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Gunathilake also appeared before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division in recent days to give statements regarding this incident.
