Intellectual property laws, including the ban on singing Nanda Malini's songs as covers, are explained.

Any creations written by Hon. Professor Sunil Ariyaratne and sung by Dr. Nanda Malini are prohibited from being used for commercial purposes. Capital City Law Firm points out that re-singing, re-creating, or re-producing these songs is entirely illegal.

Accordingly, recording the relevant songs as cover songs for commercial purposes, as well as singing them indoors or at outdoor music concerts during various tribute or memorial performances, is also prohibited. Furthermore, the relevant law firm emphasizes that legal action will be taken if these creations are commercially broadcast or if changes are made in a way that violates the Professor's moral rights.

In accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Intellectual Property Act, as well as the regulations of Cey Music and ACPOSL, of which Professor Sunil Ariyaratne is a member, such activities are illegal. If any individual, group, or organization violates these rules, either domestically or abroad, Capital City Law Firm will take legal action against them.

However, the firm states that this does not hinder creative activities carried out for non-commercial purposes. Accordingly, Professor Sunil Ariyaratne has stated that legal action will not be taken against the use of these songs in singing competitions held in schools, universities, and higher education institutions, as well as amateur singing competitions organized by radio or television channels.
