Complaints regarding errors in 4 questions of the Advanced Level Physics paper

A complaint has been lodged with the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission, alleging that four questions in the Physics multiple-choice question paper of this year's G.C.E. Advanced Level examination are flawed, and requesting justice for the students who were unfairly affected by this. This complaint was submitted by a Physics teacher from a leading school in Colombo.

The teacher points out that questions number 17, 18, 19, and 46 in the relevant question paper contain errors, making it impossible to provide a correct answer. He further states that the Examinations Department has been made aware of this issue, and they have agreed to award a mark only for question number 46.

The gentleman points out that deciding to award marks for only one question causes severe prejudice to the students who sat for the examination, and he emphasizes that all 04 marks should be awarded for all four erroneous questions. Therefore, he further requests the Human Rights Commission to bring this issue to the attention of the responsible authorities and arrange for marks to be awarded for all four questions.

An attempt was made to contact the Commissioner General of Examinations, Mrs. Indika Kumari Liyanage, by telephone to inquire about the Examinations Department's side of the matter, but it was unsuccessful.
