Yoshitha and Grandma Daisy's case is postponed for another month.

The Colombo High Court today (31) ordered the postponement of the case filed against Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his grandmother Daisy Forest, on charges of violating the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, until September 28. This decision was made when the case was called before Colombo High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli.

There, the government's lawyer stated that the defense had filed an appeal before the Supreme Court regarding a certain matter related to this case. As the relevant appeal is scheduled to be considered on September 04, the government's lawyer requested the court to call this case on a date after that. Considering the facts presented, the High Court judge set September 28 for the next hearing of the case.

This case, filed by the Attorney General, alleges that the defendants committed an offense under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act by depositing nearly 57 million rupees, illegally acquired, into three bank accounts.
