Abdul Hakeem, a renowned Malayalam video blogger who consistently raised his voice on social media against dangerous drug trafficking and social injustices, has been arrested in the United Arab Emirates after accidentally displaying drug use during a live online broadcast. It is reported that Hakeem, who is known as 'Ente Cassette' on social media, was arrested by Sharjah Police.
While he was live on the social media platform 'Kick', scenes of him using drugs were broadcast live to viewers due to an accidental touch on his laptop. As these scenes quickly spread widely across social media, he attempted to flee the United Arab Emirates. Sharjah Police, who were activated, pursued him and took immediate steps to arrest him, although Sharjah Police have not yet officially confirmed this.Hakeem had gained significant popularity on social media by creating videos against the drug mafia that targeted Malayalis, centered in Bangalore, India. This blogger, who presented himself under the false guise of a human rights activist advocating against drugs and violence against women, had previously faced various accusations of actually maintaining close ties with drug networks. His true nature has now been revealed to the world through his own live broadcast, and he is also accused of misusing his social media influence to blackmail leading film actors and public figures for money. It is also said that character assassination of innocent individuals through live videos without proper evidence had become his usual tactic.
Abdul Hakeem, who was arrested, is also involved in numerous criminal cases in his home country, India. A case has been filed against him for an incident where he allegedly threatened a person with a knife to their neck and attempted to take a selfie with their wife. Another case has been registered against him for damaging a police jeep when officers went to arrest him on that charge. Furthermore, a complaint has been filed against him by a woman residing in the Ernakulam area, alleging that he defamed her by posting sexually abusive remarks on social media. Cases against him are also pending at cyber police stations in various states, including Karnataka, and it is reported that he will face very strict legal action under the stringent anti-drug laws in the United Arab Emirates.
