Registered under the name Daisy Achchi, 34 million paid by an unknown name - The house bought for Yoshitha to live with Yasara.

The case filed against Mr. Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, was taken up for hearing today (09) before the Colombo High Court, where three witnesses related to the incident revealed a lot of important information.

Ms. Yasara Abeynayake, who testified here, stated that she had visited the house located on Mihindu Mawatha, Dehiwala, which is central to this case. She mentioned that she and Yoshitha Rajapaksa had planned to get married and reside in that house, and that she knew the house was built by Yoshitha Rajapaksa himself. She further stated that during the construction of the house, Mr. Yoshitha Rajapaksa was serving in the Navy and also supported the activities of the 'CSN' channel. Responding to cross-examination by President's Counsel Sampath Mendis, who appeared for the defendant Yoshitha Rajapaksa, she said that the house in question was a very large mansion consisting of a large number of rooms.

Mr. Lucien Ratnayake, a landowner and another witness in the case, stated before the court that he had entrusted his land of about 31 perches located on Kekatiya Road, Ratmalana, to his acquaintance, Wasantha Kumara Jayasuriya, for sale. He further stated that Wasantha Kumara later brought a buyer, but did not disclose the buyer's identity. Subsequently, the deed for the sale of the said land for Rs. 34.5 million was signed at the Standard Chartered Bank in Rajagiriya. He revealed that he signed the deed after the money was deposited into his bank account, and although he did not know who deposited the money, the buyer mentioned in the deed was a woman named 'Daisy Forest'. He also recalled that about two years before the sale of this land, Yoshitha Rajapaksa had visited the house with his girlfriend during a 'Garage sale' held to sell household items.

Mr. Wasantha Kumara Jayasuriya, who appeared as the third witness in connection with the incident, stated that Yasara Abeynayake is his niece and that she and Yoshitha Rajapaksa were engaged to be married, having exchanged rings. He mentioned that Yoshitha Rajapaksa had discussed with him the purchase of Lucien Ratnayake's land and expressed his willingness to buy it. Accordingly, Mr. Wasantha Kumara Jayasuriya further testified before the court that the deeds were signed at the Standard Chartered Bank in Rajagiriya, and at that time, the money required to purchase the land was brought in bags by a group of individuals who appeared to be security personnel.
