Female mastermind who fired shots at Handala party arrested

The Criminal Investigation Division of Wattala Police has succeeded in arresting two individuals, including a woman considered the mastermind behind the shooting attack on a birthday party held on the night of the 24th in the Handala Palliyawatta area, along with 'Ice' drug.

Investigations have revealed that this plan was executed to assassinate 'Kudu Roshan' on the instructions of leading drug traffickers 'Sudu Malli' and 'Priyankara', who have fled and are hiding in Dubai. While the targeted 'Kudu Roshan' escaped the shooting attack and fled, his alleged associate, a person named Ohes Odushanka alias Sumeda alias Madushanka, succumbed to his serious injuries after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

This assassination attempt was carried out at the function hall where 'Kudu Roshan's' three-year-old daughter's birthday party was held, which had been booked by his brother in Dubai for a payment of Rs. 75,000. The shooter, disguised as a guest and dancing, approached 'Kudu Roshan's' location and fired shots. 'Kudu Roshan', who survived the attack, jumped over the hotel wall and fled, and he has not yet been found.

To execute the assassination plan, drug traffickers in Dubai had provided approximately two hundred and sixty thousand rupees, and a car was obtained from a vehicle rental place in the Kandana area at the request of the suspect woman. The other arrested suspect was made to go to the Armour Street area in Colombo in that car and bring the shooter. The police succeeded in finding the relevant car, which had been abandoned after the incident, and a revolver bullet was also found inside it.

A senior police officer stated that after the two suspects, arrested on charges of aiding and abetting murder and possession of drugs, were produced before the Welisara Magistrate's Court, a seven-day detention order was obtained. The arrested male suspect had previously been arrested with drugs and released on bail, and Wattala Police are conducting further investigations to arrest several others, including another woman connected to the incident.
