
Police have succeeded in arresting the owner of a leading private tuition class institution in Horana town, along with a stock of 'Ice' drug. The arrested individual is a 44-year-old resident of Narthanagala area in Horana.
During the arrest, 15 grams and 250 milligrams of 'Ice' drug were found in the suspect's possession. In addition, a mobile phone, a SIM card suspected to have been used for trafficking activities, and an electronic scale used for weighing drugs have also been taken into police custody. Investigations have also revealed that the arrested person is the son of a well-known businessman in the Horana area.
When police officers went to his house in Narthanagala to arrest the suspect, he attempted to flee the scene. The suspect, who has previously faced several drug-related charges, is scheduled to undergo further questioning after obtaining a detention order.
Investigations are underway to determine whether this suspect maintained direct contact with traffickers and whether a drug distribution network operated through him. Furthermore, the police have launched a comprehensive investigation into whether 'Ice' drug was sold targeting children attending tuition classes.
