Welikaada Police report that a three-year-old boy, who was traveling with his parents on a motorcycle, was killed in a fatal road accident when he was thrown from the motorcycle and hit by an oncoming car. Although steps were immediately taken to admit the seriously injured child to IDH Hospital, he died within a few minutes. Police state that the child's parents did not sustain any injuries in the accident. A 36-year-old resident of Kotikawatta, Mahabuthgamuwa area, who was driving the car negligently, has been arrested by the police. Furthermore, investigations have revealed that the negligent riding of the deceased child's father, who was driving the motorcycle, also contributed to the accident, and he is also expected to be arrested.
