A tense and heated atmosphere has been created between former Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekhar and Member of Parliament Archuna Ramanathan during a Kilinochchi District Development Committee meeting. It is reported that this controversial situation arose during the time allocated for participants to ask questions.
There, Member of Parliament Archuna Ramanathan attempted to read several petitions before the assembly, and the rest of the attendees strongly protested and started shouting. Angered by this protest, MP Archuna severely accused former Minister Chandrasekhar as well as the District Secretary, calling them "thieves".
Amidst the arguments, the situation became more heated, and MP Archuna got up from his seat, went towards Ramalingam Chandrasekhar, and even attempted to assault him. However, security forces, including police officers present there, immediately intervened, preventing the MP's attempt.
When the security forces attempted to restrain him, the MP stated that he would not allow anyone to lay a hand on him. Furthermore, MP Archuna also stated that if anyone acted against him in such a manner, he would retaliate with an attack.
