A girl's dead body found in a quarry

A girl's dead body has been found in a quarry in the Mahawalatenna Kajuwatta area.

The deceased is a 17-year-old girl who resided in the Mahawalatenna area of Balangoda.

The girl had been missing from home since the 23rd, and her father had lodged a complaint with the Balangoda Police regarding her disappearance.

However, police stated that no information has yet been revealed regarding whether this was a homicide, a suicide, or a death by drowning.

The post-mortem examination regarding this matter is scheduled to be held today (25) at the Balangoda Hospital.

Balangoda Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
