6-year-old child in locked car suffocated to death

A tragic news has been reported where a six-year-old boy died of suffocation after being trapped inside a parked car under intense sunlight in a region belonging to the Thanjavur district of India. The child who died in this unfortunate incident is a six-year-old boy named Thaman.

Last Sunday, the deceased child had gone out in a car with his uncle (father's elder brother) and his son for a holiday. This accident occurred when they returned home after the trip. The child's uncle got out of the car with only his son, and he did not notice that little Thaman was still in the back seat of the car. Accordingly, he completely closed the car doors and windows and went inside the house.

As time passed, family members realized the child was not at home and became very worried. They launched an intense search in places where he usually played and in neighboring houses. Relatives and friends gathered and searched in various places, but they could not find any information about the child. Later, around 7:00 PM that day, a suspicion arose, and they opened the doors of the car parked near the house to check.

At that moment, the family members wailed upon seeing the little child, who had already died due to suffocation and unconsciousness caused by the extreme heat and lack of oxygen inside the car. Upon being informed of the incident, police officers immediately responded, arrived at the scene, and referred the child's body to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination, initiating further investigations into the incident.

Meanwhile, to prevent such tragedies, the police emphasize that adults should check multiple times whether there are children inside vehicles when parking them in public places or near homes. The police further advise that the public should be extremely attentive and careful about this, especially with the current hot weather, as the temperature inside a closed vehicle can rise to a very dangerous level within minutes.
