The bodies of a married couple who had mysteriously died were found in a building in Bulathsinhala.

The bodies of a married couple were found mysteriously dead inside a textile shop operating on the upper floor of a two-story building located in the Agalla Road area of Bulathsinhala. Following information received by the Bulathsinhala Police Station, a group of officers immediately responded and, during searches conducted at the location, were able to find these bodies yesterday (14).

Those who mysteriously lost their lives are a 61-62 year old man named Wijithasiri Dassanayake, who was residing at the location on a rental basis, and a 55-year-old woman named Weragoda Vidanelage Pushpa Shiromani, who is said to be his second wife. Initial police investigations revealed that the body of the deceased wife was covered with a cloth and a blood stain was also visible on it.

This house and shop had been closed from the outside for several days, and based on the condition when the bodies were found, police suspect that these deaths may have occurred several days ago. The magisterial inquiry and post-mortem examination regarding the incident are scheduled to be held in the future.

It has not yet been definitively revealed whether this mysterious incident was a brutal murder or occurred due to some other reason, and the Bulathsinhala Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the true facts regarding it.
