
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has confirmed that the monthly fuel price revision, which is implemented on the first day of every month, will not be carried out today (01). Authorities have not yet announced a specific reason for not making the relevant price change on the scheduled date this time, deviating from the usual procedure.
However, a spokesperson for the corporation, addressing the media, stated that steps would be taken to inform the public within the next few days about the final decision regarding the upcoming price revision in accordance with the fuel price formula.
The last change in fuel prices in the country was made on March 21st, and until a new revision is made, the prices announced on that day will remain in effect across the island. Accordingly, under the current market prices, a liter of Octane 92 petrol is sold to consumers for Rs. 398.00, and a liter of Octane 95 petrol for Rs. 455.00. In addition, the price of a liter of Auto Diesel remains at Rs. 382.00 and a liter of Super Diesel at Rs. 443.00, while the current price for a liter of kerosene is Rs. 255.00.
