The story that Tilvin was beaten and is in the hospital

He himself has strongly stated that the reports circulating on social media, alleging that JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva was assaulted at the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna's main office in Pelawatte and subsequently hospitalized due to injuries, are completely false. Based on this false information, Mr. Milinda Rajapaksa, an activist of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, also held a press conference to express his sympathy regarding Mr. Tilvin Silva's alleged hospitalization.

This controversial news story originated from a social media post by senior journalist Mr. Uvindu Kurukulasuriya. However, Mr. Kurukulasuriya later clarified that his initial post was not about Mr. Tilvin Silva but about another friend. It has been reaffirmed through this incident that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is an extremely disciplined political party that, despite ideological conflicts, does not resort to barbaric methods like assaults to resolve them, but instead resolves any crisis through extensive discussion or disciplinary action according to the party constitution.

Commenting on the launch of such false propaganda against him, Mr. Tilvin Silva points out that politically bankrupt groups are resorting to such despicable acts in the face of the success of the massive May Day rally held by the National People's Power across twenty-one districts. Stating that this is merely a display of political bankruptcy and intellectual deficiency, he sarcastically added that those who create these false news stories publish their nighttime dreams as social media posts in the morning.

Confirming that he is currently in very good health, the JVP General Secretary emphasized that social media activists and journalists should be responsible enough to make at least one phone call to him to verify the truth before reporting such news. He further stated that political groups disseminating such baseless mudslinging without any critical judgment will surely be rejected by the people, and that such ridiculous actions can in no way defeat the mandate held by his political movement.
