Although many believe that Meghan Markle is the reason for the fractured relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William, a royal author has revealed that the brothers' contentious situation began long before she joined the royal family. It is reported that with Prince Harry's departure from the royal family in 2020, the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the Prince of Wales completely deteriorated, and currently, they have even stopped speaking to each other.
While these two princes were known to be very close in the past, their behavior has taken a completely different turn in recent years. Although the entire blame for Prince Harry's separation from the royal family and the dispute between the brothers is placed on the Duchess of Sussex, renowned royal author Christopher Andersen points out that Meghan was never the real cause of these conflicts, and that this brotherly relationship was already damaged before she came into their lives.
Speaking to 'Page Six', he stated that there had been intense tension between Harry and William since they were children, fighting in the back seat of the car, and that society had not paid proper attention to it. Furthermore, Andersen added that Harry had been made to feel very clearly from a young age that he received less attention compared to Prince William. This unfairness deeply affected Harry's mind, and ultimately led to the complete destruction of their brotherly relationship.
Confirming these views, Prince Harry's memoir titled "Spare" also details the differences that existed between himself and William. He mentions that when they lived in Kensington Palace as children, William was given a more comfortable and larger bedroom, while his own room was much smaller and less luxurious. Prince Harry further wrote in his book that he never questioned that difference, nor did he feel the need to ask about it.
