A video of Bandula in a driverless car in Hollywood

Former Minister Bandula Gunawardena has shared a special video on his official Facebook page, outlining a unique experience of traveling in a driverless car named 'Waymo' in Hollywood, America.

He boarded this autonomous taxi with his family members, intending to travel to a destination within Hollywood city. Mr. Gunawardena describes during the journey that their vehicle is traveling through the area where highly popular Hollywood films are produced worldwide.

He points out that the most unique feature of this vehicle is its ability to automatically travel to the destination provided by passengers, without any human driver intervention. The former minister stated that this journey was very safe and that it provided a good understanding of the development and nature of future autonomous transport services.

Furthermore, he explained that Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is used at a very high level in these vehicles to make instant driving decisions and automatically prevent potential traffic accidents.

Mr. Gunawardena further states that a large number of taxi services operating in the Los Angeles area have already adopted such driverless cars. At the end of the video, it can be seen how the vehicle, carrying his group, safely reached the designated destination and then automatically stopped, allowing passengers to safely exit.
