A female corpse was found in a travel bag while investigating a foul smell in a house in Seeduwa.

Yesterday (20) evening, the Seeduwa Police Station received information that an unusual foul odor was emanating from a house located in the Mookalangamuwa area, which falls under the Seeduwa Police Division. Acting immediately on that information, a team of police officers inspected the said house, and there, they succeeded in discovering the body of a woman meticulously hidden inside a travel bag in one of the bedrooms.

The mysteriously deceased person has been identified as a 79-year-old elderly woman who resided in the Mookalangamuwa, Seeduwa area. Preliminary investigations have revealed that she had been living alone in that house for a long time. During initial observations regarding this death, it was revealed that the CCTV security camera system installed in the house had been removed, and the telephone lines in the house had also been cut, leading to suspicion that this is an organized murder.

The magisterial inquiry and the post-mortem examination regarding the incident are scheduled to be held today (21). The perpetrators of this horrific crime have not yet been identified, and officers from the Seeduwa Police Station have launched extensive further investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects.
