Opposition Member of Parliament Chamara Sampath Dasanayake made a special revelation in Parliament yesterday, stating that the daughter of a current government cabinet minister, who is studying higher education in the United Kingdom, is currently residing in a house belonging to a member of the Tamil diaspora. The MP stated that he does not level any accusations regarding government ministers maintaining connections with the diaspora, but emphasized that such diaspora connections should also be openly revealed to the country while maintaining relationships with other parties.

He further stated that although he has no intention of disrupting the victory celebrations, he is compelled to reveal this true information to the public.

Addressing Parliament, Mr. Dasanayake revealed several other serious matters and severely criticized the conduct of an officer of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). The MP accused the officer of acting as a torturer or 'killer', and also commented on the recent demise of former SriLankan Airlines CEO, Mr. Kapila Chandrasena. Quoting the song lyric "Was he killed and then hanged - or hanged and then killed?" he stated that it implies this officer attached to the Bribery Commission is involved in murders.
