Chua raids Samantha's drug warehouse in Mount Lavinia

A team of police officers successfully raided a secret warehouse yesterday (23) afternoon, where a stock of drugs belonging to Adhikari Samantha Perera, also known as 'Chua Samantha,' a powerful underworld leader and international drug trafficker hiding abroad, was concealed. During the raid on this drug warehouse, located in a house on Kandawala Road, Mount Lavinia, three kilograms and one hundred and fifty grams of heroin hidden there were taken into custody by the security forces.

This operation was launched by the Panadura Walana Central Anti-Corruption Strike Force.




The current market value of the heroin stock seized by the police during the raid is estimated to be close to ninety million rupees. Along with the drug stock, a suspect who was at the location was also arrested by the officers; he is a 49-year-old resident of Dehiwala. Investigations have confirmed that this suspect, known by the alias 'Two-Tone,' has been operating as a key figure in the relevant drug network. Furthermore, information has revealed that he had previously been involved in drug distribution for some time under another trafficker named Devinda.

This raid was carried out under the full supervision of Inspector General of Police, Attorney Priyantha Weerasuriya, and on the instructions of the Director of the Panadura Walana Central Anti-Corruption Strike Force, Assistant Superintendent of Police Rohan Olugala. Under the leadership of its OIC, Chief Police Inspector Indika Weerasinghe, a police team including Sub-Inspector Chathuranga arrested the suspect and the drug stock. The police state that the arrested suspect will be held under detention orders for questioning, and further extensive investigations will be conducted to identify other individuals connected to this network.
