China has once again succeeded in redefining the boundaries of modern engineering by installing a massive 2,500-ton concrete bridge in a precise location within a short period of twenty-four hours.

This remarkable operation took place on April 14th in Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, China. During the operation, an old, narrow culvert located beneath an active main railway line was completely removed, and a massive pre-fabricated concrete structure was swiftly installed in its place.

For many years, this location had been a major headache for local residents and drivers. The old bridge, only ten meters wide, could accommodate only two vehicles at a time, leading to severe daily traffic congestion. However, with the new construction, this narrow road will transform into a four-lane, dual-direction wide highway, making daily commutes for thousands of people much easier and more efficient.

This project is not merely about alleviating traffic congestion. It directly contributes to boosting the local economy and tourism industry. Specifically, it provides tourists with easy access to Heishi Po Forest Park via the nearly three-kilometer-long Central Forest Health Road. In this operation, executed by the China Railway Eighth Bureau, the modern technology of pulling out the 650-ton old bridge and pushing in the 2,500-ton new bridge using giant hydraulic jack systems was employed, marking the first successful trial of such a method in China.

Launching this operation across the Guangda line, a major railway in the region carrying more than ten passenger and freight trains daily, was extremely risky. Installing such a massive structure without any errors within the short 24-hour window during which train traffic was halted posed a huge challenge for the engineers. Even a minor mistake could have led to a severe risk of disrupting the entire railway network in the region for an extended period.

Today, as trains pass over the new bridge without any hindrance, this massive concrete structure stands proudly as a silent testament to the world-astonishing 'China Speed' and the relentless technological revolution.
