Before, when 100 people met, only two would speak. Now, 99 of them, from the Pohottuwa party, take selfies with us.

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Member of Parliament DV Chanaka, participating in a political program on Siyatha TV channel, stated the following: 
Question 
"A situation had arisen where it was impossible to go out on the streets after houses were set on fire.

How are the Pohottuwa (SLPP) members doing now? Considering the reactions received while on pilgrimage to Sri Pada, or when travelling on roads, what is the situation like now?" 

Answer 

"I think you all might have seen it. Now, if you meet a hundred people on the road, ninety-nine of them will talk to you and take a selfie. Last time, if you saw a hundred people, only about two would talk. Now, it seems like the situation has completely turned around. There are several reasons for this currently. One is the role played by Hon. Namal Rajapaksa in Parliament and the role of the opposition, which has increased public attraction. On the other hand, the false accusations made back then are proving to be false one by one. Especially the biggest accusation about hiding money in Uganda."
