A person who had come to participate in an Indian film being shot at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) complex in Colombo suddenly fell ill, collapsed, and died. Cinnamon Gardens Police have confirmed information regarding this death, stating that the individual faced this unfortunate fate while preparing to be made up to portray the character of an Indian Member of Parliament.
The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Alagar Karuppu Sami, a resident of Rattota Road, Kaludewala, Matale. He was an unmarried individual. While preparing for the shoot, he went to the bathroom and suddenly collapsed there. The unconscious man was then promptly admitted to the Colombo National Hospital by the film crew present, but his life could not be saved.
This shoot was scheduled to take place with the main participation of popular Indian cinema star couple Saravanan Sivakumar, also known as Suriya, and Trisha Krishnan. According to preliminary police investigations, a scene depicting the Indian Parliament was planned to be filmed at the conference hall complex yesterday (21) around 2:30 PM, and this sudden death occurred while the relevant group was preparing for it since around 12:30 PM.
