32-year-old woman dies from assault by illicit partner

Day before yesterday (14) in the afternoon, a thirty-two-year-old woman was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon in the Netolagama area, which falls under the Wellawaya police division.

According to information received by the Wellawaya Police Station regarding this attack, officers immediately responded and arrived at the scene of the crime.

Although the police took steps to urgently admit the seriously injured woman to Wellawaya Base Hospital, hospital authorities confirmed that she had already succumbed to her injuries by then.

The woman who fell victim to this tragic fate was a resident of the Wellawaya, Netolagama area.

According to preliminary investigations conducted by the police so far, it has been revealed that the escalation of a personal dispute between the deceased woman and her illicit partner was the root cause of this crime.

The suspect who committed this murder has already fled the area.

To immediately arrest the suspect who is hiding and evading the law, the Wellawaya Police are currently launching a wide-ranging operation and conducting further investigations.
