A group of 06 individuals, including Baththaramulle Seelarathana representing the Janasetha Peramuna, staged a protest near the American Embassy in Sri Lanka, expressing full support for Israel and the United States amidst the prevailing crisis in the Middle East region. The protesters strongly condemned Iran's attacks on Israel and emphasized that the support received from Israel during Sri Lanka's past terrorist crisis should be gratefully remembered.

The views expressed by Member of Parliament Mujibur Rahman regarding this crisis also came under severe criticism from Seelarathana Thero. The Thero accused the MP, who speaks against Israel in support of Palestine and Iran, of not representing the views of all global citizens. They also stated that Donald Trump and the Israeli Prime Minister have the full support of the Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka.

It was stated here that there is serious doubt regarding the agreements reportedly signed by the current government with America, as both the public and political party leaders are unaware of them. Accordingly, representatives of the Janasetha Peramuna further stated that they would take steps to request information about the relevant agreements from the American Embassy through the Right to Information Act.

Accusing Iran of spreading racism and extremism, the protesters urged the current government to pay close attention to immigrants residing in Sri Lanka, including Rohingya and Palestinian nationals. They stated that Iranian nationals should not be allowed to enter Sri Lanka for any reason, and that they believe a plan is underway to eradicate the majority ethnicity in the country by 2050. It was also stated that Sri Lanka did not benefit from Iran through the Uma Oya project.

The Buddhist monks stated here that they are not afraid of any party and that they have the right to protest anywhere necessary with the aim of saving the nation.
