The young man who rode a bike recklessly on the road, causing nuisance to others, was arrested (video)

A 19-year-old youth has been arrested by Navagattegama Police in connection with an incident where he rode a motorcycle extremely recklessly, posing a threat to public safety.

Following the circulation of a video on social media showing the motorcycle, carrying two youths, being driven in a manner that severely obstructed other vehicles and pedestrians, security forces launched a special investigation into the matter.

Police investigations conducted through the relevant video footage revealed that the suspects had driven the motorcycle towards the Anamaduwa area.

Accordingly, a team of officers from the Navagattegama Police Station successfully apprehended the main suspect motorcyclist yesterday (08) evening. He was arrested under serious charges of dangerous driving, endangering other vehicles and pedestrians on the road, and attempted culpable homicide.

Coinciding with this arrest, the police have also taken into custody the motorcycle used in the incident.

The suspect youth, a resident of the Navagattegama area, is scheduled to be produced before the Anamaduwa Magistrate's Court today (09), and Navagattegama Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
