Son killed by father's axe blow

A shocking murder was reported last night (26th) from the Sohonkalma area, which falls under the Mahakumbukkadawala Police Division. This was regarding a father who murdered his own son, born of his blood, by hitting him with an axe.

The person who unfortunately lost his life in this manner is a twenty-six-year-old youth who resided in the same area.

According to information revealed through preliminary police investigations, the deceased youth and his father were consuming alcohol inside their house, and during that time, an argument arose between the two of them. As that verbal altercation escalated, the father, who became extremely enraged, used an axe as a weapon to launch this fatal attack on his son.

The police have already succeeded in apprehending the sixty-three-year-old father, who is suspected to be involved in the incident. After the magisterial inquiry into the body of the murdered youth, it is scheduled to be sent to Anamaduwa Hospital for post-mortem examination. The Mahakumbukkadawala Police are currently conducting extensive investigations into the incident.
