Iraqi security forces have taken strong measures to disperse a group of Shia protesters who gathered in Baghdad's 'Green Zone' to express strong opposition against the assassination of Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The group, which attempted to storm this high-security zone where major government buildings, including the US Embassy, are located, expressed their protest by chanting slogans against America. Due to this, roads in the area have been completely closed for traffic, and protesters had gathered in front of the US Embassy.

It is reported that the police and security forces used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse them and control the heated situation. Currently, Iraqi security forces have launched an extensive security program to further strengthen security in the Green Zone and especially around the US Embassy.
