Husband killed wife by cutting her throat and fled

Marawila Headquarters Police has launched a special investigation to arrest a husband who is said to have cut his wife's throat with a knife and murdered her, following a family dispute escalating. This tragedy is reported from the Bankada Road area, Katuneriya, Marawila.

The unfortunate victim is a 44-year-old woman named Adhikari Mudiyanselage Thushari Adhikari, who resided at the same address. Police investigations have revealed that her two daughters, who are now married, live separately.

According to information received by the police emergency hotline around 11:40 PM yesterday (01), officers immediately responded and inspected the house where the crime occurred. The police were able to find the body of the murdered woman in the bedroom of their house.

Information from residents indicates that there were frequent family disputes between the deceased woman and her husband. Police strongly suspect that an argument occurred between the two in the bedroom last night as well, and as a result, the enraged husband committed this crime by cutting his wife's throat with a sharp weapon.

The suspect husband, believed to have committed the crime, has currently fled the area and is in hiding. Marawila Police has launched a wide-ranging operation to quickly bring him to justice. The police further stated that a magisterial inquiry into the crime scene is scheduled to be held today.
