Dubai International Airport has taken steps to temporarily suspend all operations with the aim of ensuring the safety of passengers, airport staff, and airline crew. Concurrently, Emirates Airline has also issued a statement announcing that all flights to and from Dubai have been suspended until further notice.

The airline has further confirmed that this decision will be in effect until 11:59 PM UAE time on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

The primary reasons for this sudden decision are the wartime atmosphere created by conflicts in the Middle East region, particularly involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, and the closure of regional airspace. Although various rumors, such as a drone attack near Dubai Airport, spread on social media platforms like X, official sources confirm that this flight suspension is entirely based on regional airspace restrictions.

Emirates authorities, stating that they always prioritize the safety of their passengers and staff, strongly urge the public to refrain from coming to the airport without prior notification. Currently, almost all regular scheduled flights have been suspended, with only limited operations for essential cargo transport like medicines, special passenger transport services, and a few confirmed connecting flights. Passengers traveling to other countries via Dubai will only be allowed to enter the airport passenger terminal if their onward flight is operational.

Passengers inconvenienced by these canceled flights have been given the opportunity to change their tickets or receive a refund without additional charges until the end of March. As the situation may change constantly due to developments in the regional crisis, the airline has advised passengers to continuously check the official Emirates website or the Dubai Airport website.
