Ireland vs Oman – Ireland wins by 96 runs

Ireland recorded their first victory of the tournament by inflicting a massive 96-run defeat on Oman in the match held in Colombo. After being in a difficult situation with 4 wickets down for 64 runs, captain Lorcan Tucker's excellent innings helped Ireland post a massive total of 235 runs for 5 wickets at the end of 20 overs.  This is also the highest team score recorded in this World Cup so far. Oman's run chase was never successful; with wickets falling in clusters due to the disciplined bowling of Ireland's fast and spin bowlers,

their initial hopes faded. Oman was completely defeated, being bowled out for 139 runs in 18 overs, which significantly boosted Ireland's net run rate in the highly competitive 'B' group.

England vs Scotland – England wins by 5 wickets

England revived their tournament journey by securing a five-wicket victory over Scotland after a thrilling match in Kolkata. Scotland, who collapsed from a strong position, were bowled out for 152 runs, with Richie Berrington's 49 being the standout innings. Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer led the bowling attack for England. Chasing a target of 153, England faced a setback at 13 for 2, with Phil Salt and Jos Buttler falling cheaply. Tom Banton then stabilized the English innings with a valuable 63 runs off 41 balls. With support from Jacob Bethell, Sam Curran, and Will Jacks, Banton guided England to victory with 10 balls to spare, keeping their Super 8 hopes alive.

New Zealand vs South Africa – South Africa wins by 15 runs

South Africa secured a 15-run victory over New Zealand in a high-scoring, thrilling match held in Ahmedabad. Marco Jansen recorded his best T20 International cricket bowling figures, taking 4 wickets for 40 runs, breaking crucial partnerships at moments when New Zealand seemed to be taking control of the run chase. Chasing a target of 191 for victory, New Zealand got off to a successful start from their top-order batsmen, but constant fall of wickets hampered their momentum, and they could only manage 175 runs for 7 wickets at the end of 20 overs. Earlier, the South African batsmen launched several quick innings to build a competitive total on this good pitch. With Jansen's decisive bowling, they managed to maintain their unbeaten successful start in Group 'D'.
