Colombo and Kalutara shootings - two people killed

Within a few hours, two people have died and three others have been injured in two separate shooting incidents reported from two areas in the country. The Sri Lanka Police confirm that these crimes occurred today (14) in the Colombo and Kalutara areas.

One of the shootings was reported inside a beauty salon located in the Jinthupitiya Waraka Junction area of Colombo. Two unidentified gunmen, who arrived on a motorcycle, carried out this attack this afternoon using a T-56 (T56) type firearm. One person who was shot died on the spot, and three others were injured and admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, another shooting occurred today between 7:45 PM and 8:00 PM in the Maadiya Mankada (Wadiya Mankada) area of Kalutara North. Information indicates that two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle also carried out this attack. A 32-year-old man who sustained serious gunshot wounds was promptly admitted to the Kalutara Teaching Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
