Special trains deployed for Gangaramaya Relics Exhibition

The Sri Lanka Railways Department has arranged to operate a special train service for the convenience of devotees travelling from various parts of the island to worship the Sacred Relics of the Omniscient Buddha at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple. The Government Information Department announces that this special train service will operate from February 05 to February 10, 2026.




The special train operating on the Kelani Valley line between Avissawella and Colombo Fort will depart from Avissawella Railway Station at 07:15 PM and is scheduled to reach Colombo Fort by 09:56 PM. The return train will depart from Colombo Fort at 01:00 AM the following day and will reach Avissawella Railway Station by 03:37 AM.

The special train operating on the Main Line from Rambukkana to Colombo Fort will depart from Rambukkana at 06:30 PM and is scheduled to arrive at Colombo Fort Railway Station by 08:51 PM. The same train will depart from Colombo Fort at 01:00 AM and is scheduled to reach Rambukkana Railway Station by 03:15 AM.




The special train operating on the Coastal Line from Aluthgama to Maradana will depart from Aluthgama Railway Station at 07:10 PM and will arrive at Maradana Railway Station by 08:57 PM. The Railways Department further informs that the return train, departing from Maradana Railway Station at 02:00 AM, is scheduled to reach Aluthgama by 03:47 AM.
