Regarding the incident of hitting a young man with a shovel: The four, including Piyumi Hansamali's son, remanded again.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Nuwan Kaushalya yesterday (18) ordered that seven suspects, including the son of model Piyumi Hansamali, be further remanded until the 20th. They have been accused in connection with an incident where a young man was assaulted with a shovel inside a garage in the Ambagahandiya area of Rajagiriya.

Although the suspects were produced in court for an identification parade, the parade had to be postponed. The reason was that the witness of the aggrieved party in the incident was hospitalized due to an illness. Under these circumstances, the Magistrate ordered the suspects to be further remanded.

About three months prior to this incident, an accident occurred in the Rajagiriya area due to a collision between a motorcycle and a three-wheeler, and it was alleged that a group of suspects who arrived after the accident assaulted the driver of the three-wheeler.

Further investigations into this incident are being conducted by the Welikada Police. Attorneys Achini Umayangana and Imashi Senadheera appeared in court on behalf of the suspects.
