A Chinese girl who came for a tour was molested on the airplane

Airport police state that a Chinese national passenger, suspected of sexually abusing a 16-year-old Chinese minor girl who was traveling to the country with her family, was arrested the day before yesterday (18) night at a hotel in the Seeduwa area.

The person arrested on suspicion is a 43-year-old Chinese national travel agent. Police state that he was traveling on the same flight, and this serious abuse occurred inside an aircraft flying from Malaysia to Sri Lanka.

The girl informed her family members about this inhumane incident that occurred in the air when she went on a tour in the Kandy area. A complaint regarding this incident was later made to the Kandy Tourist Police, and that police station forwarded all relevant information to the Katunayake Airport Police.

Following further investigations carried out by a team of officers from the Katunayake Airport Police, the suspect Chinese national was arrested based on the information revealed. Police also state that the 16-year-old Chinese girl, who is reported to have been seriously abused, was referred for a medical examination. Katunayake Airport Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
