Sister and brother arrested for defrauding their best friend by promising to send her to Italy

**A brother and sister accused of defrauding a best friend of 2.3 million rupees by promising to provide jobs in Italy were arrested yesterday (19). These two suspects, who work in the audit division of the Sri Lanka Electricity Board, were arrested by the Horana Special Crimes Investigation Unit.**

Initial investigations conducted by the Horana Special Crimes Investigation Unit revealed that the suspect woman had deceived her best friend, promising to secure a job through her elder sister in Italy, and thereby obtained the money.

The complainant woman, a resident of the Ingiriya area, filed a complaint with the Horana Special Crimes Investigation Unit after discovering that she had been defrauded by this brother and sister. Following that complaint, the Horana Special Crimes Investigation Unit arrested these two suspect siblings, and they are scheduled to be produced before the court.
