7 injured in Beruwala student clash at Kalutara Hospital

Seven students injured in a severe clash between students of two schools in the Beruwala area have been admitted to the Kalutara Teaching Hospital.




Police reported that the incident occurred yesterday (5th) after a heated argument between two groups of students from Walana Maha Vidyalaya and Aluthgama Padagoda Maha Vidyalaya, both belonging to the Beruwala educational zone.

According to the police, a teacher from Walana Maha Vidyalaya has lodged a complaint stating that her students, who were attending a seminar at Aluthgama Padagoda Maha Vidyalaya, were attacked.




Investigations have revealed that several other individuals from the area are also involved in this incident.

Police further stated that one of the injured students is scheduled to undergo surgery due to head injuries sustained during the clash.



Aluthgama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
