The pigeon dispute escalated into a murder

Police state that a person was murdered today (18) afternoon in the Peliyagoda, Migahawatta area, following a dispute between two parties over pigeons escalating.

This murder occurred due to an assault with a sharp weapon, and doctors have confirmed that the person was already deceased upon admission to the Colombo National Hospital. The deceased was a 38-year-old resident of Oliyamulla, Wattala.

Meanwhile, the suspect who carried out the assault was also admitted to the Colombo National Hospital with injuries and is currently receiving inpatient treatment there, police said. Peliyagoda Police are conducting further investigations into this incident.
