Dehiwala Sea Shark owner killed at night

The owner of the 'Sea Shark' tourist hotel located on Marine Drive, Dehiwala, was shot dead on Friday (09) around 8:45 PM. After being admitted to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital with serious injuries, the 57-year-old succumbed to his injuries.

Two individuals, who were not wearing face coverings, arrived on a motorcycle and carried out the shooting. Reports indicate that the hotel owner was with his granddaughter at the time of the incident.

Police suspect that this shooting is a result of an ongoing conflict between two underworld gangs. The Mount Lavinia Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau, the Police Special Task Force, and Dehiwala Police have jointly launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

This is the second shooting carried out by organized criminals this year, and as a result of these shootings, two individuals have died and two others have been injured so far.
