A drug trafficker who committed 10 thefts was caught in Horana.

A person accused of committing several crimes, including property robberies, while engaging in a drug distribution racket in Horana and surrounding areas, has been arrested by the Horana Headquarters Police. This arrest was made after extensive investigations based on several complaints received against the suspect.

The person arrested by the police is a thirty-year-old resident of Munagama, Dikwenagama, Horana. Police state that he has been accused of ten thefts, including robbing money from a woman by showing a knife, intimidating a young couple and snatching money near the Horana Bakkuḷa Maha Seya, and breaking into a house in Dihenapura and stealing property.

Acting on information received by Police Intelligence Constable Kumarasiri (90986), a special police team arrested the suspect in the Batuwita area of Horana. At the time of the arrest, 10 grams and 800 milligrams of heroin were also taken into police custody from the suspect's possession.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect has been involved in drug distribution in Horana and several surrounding areas for a long time. The police are currently conducting further investigations into other alleged crimes committed by him. The arrested suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Horana Magistrate's Court for further legal proceedings.
