17-year-old from Horana dies after being hit while riding an illegal bike race (video)

A 17-year-old youth has died in a serious road accident involving two motorcycles and a car colliding in the Horana, Ilimba Junction area. According to the police, the accident occurred when two motorcycles, reportedly racing against each other, collided with a car.

One of the motorcyclists, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, died after being hospitalized, while the other motorcyclist involved in the accident and another youth traveling in the car were admitted to Horana Base Hospital with injuries.

The moment of the accident was recorded on a nearby security camera, and the police have initiated further investigations based on those visuals.

The police further state that the driver of the car, who was arrested on suspicion regarding the accident, has been released on bail after being produced before the Horana Magistrate's Court.
