Two Constables Arrested for Robbing Businessman at Kaduwela Lodge

 Kaduwela Police have arrested four individuals, including two police constables, in connection with an incident where a businessman staying at a lodge in Kaduwela town was assaulted and robbed of his property.






Police confirm that among the arrested suspects are two police constables attached to the Malabe Police, as well as the manager of the said lodge and one of its employees.

The victim of the incident is a businessman residing in the Kamburupitiya area. He had come to Kaduwela town to visit his child in the Biyagama area and was returning home. Due to a lack of transportation, he rented a room at a lodge located near a state bank and stayed there.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the four suspects were drinking alcohol with the lodge owner at the time. Subsequently, the two police constables went to the businessman's room, claiming they needed to conduct a search, and forcibly opened the door,


The complaint states that they then assaulted the businessman and robbed him of his money and a gold ring.

Police further stated that the two arrested police constables are residents of Nagoda, Galle, and Komala, Imaduwa areas, while the other two suspects are residents of Piliyandala and Ginigathhena areas.
