The young man injured in the Kohuwala - Nugegoda shooting dies at the hospital after 4 days

Hospital sources state that the young man who was shot and injured on December 22 while traveling in a trishaw from Nugegoda towards Kohuwala, and was receiving treatment, has died at Kalubowila Hospital. He was 21 years old at the time of his death.

It is reported that his right arm and abdomen were injured in the shooting. Police investigations have revealed that two unknown individuals who arrived on a motorcycle fired three shots with a pistol-type firearm and then fled.

The police had previously revealed that the deceased young man was a close associate of Avishka, a drug trafficker living abroad. Furthermore, police investigations confirmed that he was the person handling Avishka's financial affairs.

However, police state that investigations have revealed this shooting was carried out by the group of another drug trafficker named Badowita Asanka. Police investigations have further revealed that the attack was planned under Badowita Asanka's instructions and executed by a person named 'Sando'.
